It was built in 1799 by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh and was designed by Lal Chand in the form of Lord Krishna’s Crown.
It has a fusion of Rajput and Mughal architecture. It is of five floors and has 953 small windows, which was specially made so that Queen or Princesses can observe daily life of people without getting noticed. It was built using red and pink sandstone’s.
The small windows were designed as ‘honeycomb of a beehive’.
